Help us bring to life the mental health revolution in journalism! We seek a part-time Business Development Manager who can grow our international client base and execute on our earned income strategies.

The Self-Investigation is a global nonprofit organization catalyzing a healthy work culture in the media and communication industries by placing well-being and mental health as a core business strategy and value. Our vision is driven by our belief that to sustain quality journalism, we need mentally healthy journalists.

After three successful years, we’ve reached a critical juncture in our growth where we believe direct sales and strategic outreach can really help us move the needle in our sustainability plan, beyond philanthropic support. At the same time, we believe the media industry has reached a “tipping point” in taking mental health seriously — from major newsrooms to local outlets, leaders are taking this topic seriously and are investing resources accordingly. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious team player to make a direct impact in our field.

We’re looking for a proactive, engaged, people person with a passion for mentally healthy work cultures and sustainable journalism around the world. The right candidate for this role is someone who enjoys meeting with news leaders to talk about the benefits of work well-being, along with a strong drive for closing deals and growing revenue. They love working with and meeting people from a variety of cultures and backgrounds.

As a fully remote global team, we value flexible hours and a friendly, collaborative team environment. Our clients have included international organizations like AFP, Change.org Foundation and The Guardian, and we’re growing fast. This is a part-time role reporting directly to our Executive Director, Mar Cabra, a Pulitzer Prize winner and now advocate for journalists’ mental health.
